Fluvanna Youth Baseball

IMPORTANT: Do not wait until the last minute to register your child to play ball. Minor, Major and Jr Babe Ruth teams will be capped at a maximum of 11 players per team. Rookie will be capped at a maximum of 12 players per team.

Those who register after registration cutoff date may be put on a waiting list if teams have reached full capacity.

It is hard for the league as well as managers and coaches to have teams more than 11 players for these three leagues. Having more than the 11 player limit causes players to get less playing time on the field during games. Registration is a first come first serve.

If it is determined FYB has enough players to fill the 11 player limit for teams, all other registrants will be placed on a wait list until a decision can be made whether another team can be formed or not.

FYB Divisions

Welcome to the start of registering your child in the Fluvanna Youth Baseball (FYB) League. FYB along with Babe Ruth League, Inc, Cal Ripken Division believes that every child has the right to participate in the game of baseball. The FYB League is compromised of the following Baseball divisions in Fluvanna County for your child based on his/her age:

Jr and Sr. Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-18 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. In this division, teams are eligible to enter tournament competition and move along the tournament trail, culminating in a World Series.

Major: Currently the most popular level offered, ...this division is recommended for ballplayers ages 11-12. Features a 50' pitching distance and 70' base paths.

Minor: Recommended for ballplayers ages 9-10. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. In most regions, participants first experience post-season tournament competition in this level.

Rookie: Designed primarily for ballplayers ages 7-8, this division makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field.

T-Ball: Ballplayers ages 4-6 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young athletes hit the ball from a batting tee which is height-adjusted for a level swing, batting in order through the line-up for the entire game. T-Ball teaches all of the basic fundamentals of the game of baseball such as, fielding, hitting, catching, throwing and running. It accomplishes this in a fun and exciting way, with continuous action and simple to follow rules.

Buddy-Ball: This division encompasses players who are either physically and/or mentally challenged. This division makes allowance for a “buddy” to help the player swing a bat, round the bases, catch a ball, etc. There are no restrictions to the age of the“buddy”. The Bambino Buddy-Ball division is designed so that everyone has the opportunity to have fun.

1. If your child has played baseball in the past, you already have a username/password to access the registration

2. If you have forgotten your username/password, follow the instructions to reset your username/password. Please send an email to [email protected] if you continue to have problems.

After you have created an account, click on the division you want to register for, this will put it in your cart and allow you to pay online.

You can register online and pay by check. At checkout, under payment, click mail in check. If you decide to pay by check, please follow the "Mail in Registration" below.
